TWENTY YEARS AND COUNTING

This year – September in fact – we, in the UK office of DMN-WESTINGHOUSE are celebrating our 20th Anniversary. This is quite a big deal for two reasons. Firstly, we are able to celebrate twenty successful years. Now, not all of those years have been plain sailing but, because I have a first-class team here, we were able to pull together at times when we needed to. Secondly, and possibly more important from my own point of view, I am celebrating my own twenty years with the company. I was here when it all started in the UK and I am delighted to be able to say that, in my new position within the company, I will be here for a few more years yet.

THE PEOPLE ARE THE BRAND

That’s a bold statement! We have always let our products do the talking and, because we are the world’s largest independent manufacturer of rotary and diverter valves, I would like to hope that we are well known to many or even most of you in the solids bulk handling industry. But the products or the logo do not solely make the brand. The people also play a major part. Whether it’s the sales person selling the valves, the purchaser buying castings, the craftsmen welding, milling, turning and assembling the parts, the maintenance guy who looks after the machines or the export lady making sure that everything is at the right place at the right time. Or me at Marketing Communications, looking after the brand identity on a daily basis. We all play our part.
